Super Smash Bros Ultimate’s patch notes show that the latest 9.0 update has brought in a variey of changes – and not just by including Minecraft Steve as a DLC fighter.
The latest update for Smash is most notable for adding in a variety of Minecraft elements, but what many players likely won’t notice is that in order to accomodate for Steve, Alex, Zombie, and Enderman, every stage needed to receive minor tweaks to allow the new Minecraft elements to place correctly.
This isn’t all – there are dozens of minor tweaks to how Super Smash Bros Ultimate plays, in an effort to improve glitches or simply balance characters more effectively.
Super Smash Bros Ultimate’s patch notes
The biggest changes in the patch notes for Super Smash Bros relate to the inclusion of Minecraft in the game. The update adds the following content to the store:
- Steve & Alex Challenger Pack
- Creeper Mask + Outfit
- Pig Mask + Outfit
- Diamond Helmet + Armor
- Travis Wig + Outfit
- Bomberman Mask + Outfit
- Gil’s Helmet + Armor
The patch notes also state that Smash Bros has now gained the following Spirits:
- Slime (Minecraft)
- Villager & Iron Golem
- Ender Dragon
Beyond these inclusions, the patch notes detail a selection of gameplay adjustments for Smash Bros. The most notable change is that players will no longer be able to make videos containing DLC fighters that they do not own.
Control changes in Smash Bros update 9.0
The patch notes for the latest Smash Bros update detail a variety of changes to the way various characters control. What’s more, the calculations for Global Power Smash have been tweaked.
A full list of all control changes can be found on the NintendoLife website – these small adjustments will probably be unnoticeable to most casual players, while more serious Smash players will likely have to dramatically rethink the way they play the game.
The next update will no doubt fix whatever has now been broken by the 9.0 update, thereby continuing the endless cycle of game updates.
