For the month of October, there’s a new Pokémon Go event which has a set of special research tasks and rewards called An Inter-egg-sting Development. While the pun is painful enough, some trainers are reporting that the tasks are simply not working for them. Here you’ll discover why the An Inter-egg-sting Development objectives and prizes are not working for some in Pokémon Go.

Aside from the objectives and their corresponding prizes, the autumn event for Pokémon Go also brings about Strange Eggs that you can get and hatch. These are 12km Eggs which conceal the likes of Absol, Pawniard, and Vullaby, as well as others such as Larvitar.

While the Strange Eggs are a neat incentive, below you’ll discover why the An Inter-egg-sting Development is not working.

Why is An Inter-egg-sting Development not working in Pokémon Go?

The An Inter-egg-sting Development is not working for some Pokémon Go players.

As for why the An Inter-egg-sting Development is not working for some Pokémon Go trainers, it’s likely because they are yet to complete The Shadowy Threat Grows Special Research from earlier in 2020.

This above condition comes from Niantic’s blog:

“For the first time since March, new Team GO Rocket Special Research will be available! Join Professor Willow as he and the team leaders investigate Team GO Rocket’s involvement with Strange Eggs, culminating in a battle with Giovanni himself!

This is the last Team GO Rocket Special Research in 2020. If you currently have the The Shadowy Threat Grows Special Research from earlier this year, you’ll need to complete it first before you can obtain this new Special Research.”

Once you complete the Team Go Rocket Special Research from earlier in the year, you should then be able to move onto and complete An Inter-egg-sting Development.
