Lots of people are eagerly awaiting the release of Minecraft Steve in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate which will feature selectable Biome stages. While the crossover between Mojang and Nintendo’s hit exclusive is exciting, so too is the 1.17  Snapshot that was recently revealed. Some fans are asking when is the 1.17 Snapshot coming out for Minecraft, and here you’ll discover the release window for the Cave and Cliffs update, plus everything you must know about its new mobs.

Aside from the arrival of Steve in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, there’s more disappointing news concerning Minecraft such as the film having been delayed to an unknown date. This is disappointing as it’s not the first time the film has been delayed, and its initial release date of March 2022 was already quite far off.

However, away from the common struggles and development hell of video game movies, below you’ll discover the release window for when the 1.17 Snapshot is coming out, and you’ll also find everything you need to know about the Cave and Cliffs’ new mobs.

New mobs in Minecraft 1.17

The new mobs that will arrive in the Minecraft 1.17 Snapshot are as follows:

  • Goats
  • Wardens
  • Axolotls
  • Glow Squid

The goats are said to be cute but feisty creatures that will knock you off a cliff, meanwhile Wardens will be found deep down in the mines.

Wardens are said to be a blind mob with tons of health while dealing massive amounts of damage, and they reportedly see by way of movement and vibrations.

While the Wardens will be found in the mines, the pretty Axolotls will be found in the Lush Caves biome situated underwater.

Lastly, Glow Squids were voted for by the community over Mooblooms and Icelogers, and these Squids will also be found under the sea as you’d expect.
