Evil Eye arrived on Amazon Prime Video on October 13th but the film’s ending and mysterious baby have left fans with questions and needs to be explained.
As October arrives once again, attention starts to turn towards the spookiest holiday of them all, Halloween.
The creepy time of year is always met with the release of new horror films and TV shows and 2020 is no different.
Amazon’s attempt at spooking up their streaming service is what they’re dubbing Welcome to the Blumhouse, an event that will see four horror films released from Get Out studio, Blumhouse.
The latest of these film releases comes in the form of Evil Eye.
However, Evil Eye’s ending has left fans with plenty of questions and needs to be explained.
Evil Eye on Amazon Prime Video
Evil Eye released on Amazon Prime Video on October 13th, 2020.
The film centres on the character of Pallavi and more specifically her love life.
Pallavi wants to find a man of her choosing but her mother, Usha, is very suspicious of Pallavi’s boyfriend, Sandeep.
Usha fears that Sandeep may well be the reincarnation of a man who almost killed her 30 years previously.
Evil Eye’s ending
The final confrontation in Evil Eye takes place when Usha arrives for dinner with Pallavi and Sandeep.
Usha and Sandeep are immediately untrusting of each other and the tension slowly mounts before a fight breaks out and it’s revealed that Sandeep really is the reincarnation of the man who almost killed Usha 30 years before.
Usha is stabbed in the scuffle and Pallavi is almost drowned before some quick thinking from Usha and a heavy saucepan to Sandeep’s face save the day.
We cut to Usha and Pallavi in hospital and Usha warns that Pallavi will likely have to protect her own daughter from men like Sandeep, even if the Sandeep she knew dies as a result of their encounter.
Evil Eye’s final scene and the baby explained
After Usha and Pallavi reconcile, the film cuts to another corridor in the hospital and we hear alarms ring out and a heart monitor begin to flatline.
It’s not shown on screen but this is Sandeep’s death taking place after succumbing to the wounds inflicted by the heavy saucepan to the face.
After Usha and Pallavi’s conversation in the previous scene, we know that the baby that follows up in the next scene is yet another reincarnation of Sandeep.
The lingering shot of the baby is a hint the film leaves us on that Pallavi and her family are not free from Sandeep just yet.
Evil Eye is available to stream now on Amazon Prime Video after releasing on October 13th, 2020.
