West Bromwich Albion are keen on signing Andre Ayew from Swansea City, the Daily Mail claim.

West Brom have been looking to bolster their forward line for a number of weeks now, but their bid for Josh King seems to have hit a brick wall.

The Baggies are now looking at alternative targets and it seems that Ayew could be the next player on their list.

Ayew has impressed over a number of seasons, and the signs are that he is simply too good for the Championship.

The Ghanaian forward has hit 18 goals in his 48 matches in the second tier, and West Brom think that he could enhance the quality of their forward line.

Getting him away from Swansea could be difficult though, as manager Steve Cooper has spoken very highly of the attacker before.

“Andre has been brilliant in every way, shape or form,” Cooper said, last December, to Swansea’s official website.

“He has seven goals now, so he could easily get to double figures over the Christmas period.

“We know he has the ability, he can be as good as anyone in the league and he can play at a higher level.”

If Ayew was to join West Brom he would likely start as their central striker, with Grady Diangana and Matheus Pereira trying to provide him with enough service to score from.

The Baggies have hit five goals in their first four Premier League matches, but have only taken one point so far.
