West Ham United manager David Moyes has told The Times what he has advised Declan Rice.

Moyes has said that he has advised Rice – who can operate as a midfielder or as a defender – to watch his teammate and senior player Mark Noble.

Noble has been on the books of the Hammers his entire professional club football career.

At the age of 33, the Englishman is not the player he once was, but the midfielder remains an important figure in the team.

Rice is one of the best young players in the Premier League, and the 21-year-old England international has established himself as an important player for West Ham.

West Ham boss Moyes has raved about Noble and Rice, and he has urged the latter to follow the former closely.

Moyes told The Times: “Mark’s getting a bit older but we are trying to build the next ones, the boys to carry us through. Declan Rice is the next one after Mark.”

The Scotsman said about Rice: “And he’ll become even better. The best advice I gave to Declan is watch Mark Noble, see how he deals with players, how he interacts, how his communication goes. The biggest thing about Mark Noble is he takes responsibility.”

Big player for West Ham United

Rice is a big player for West Ham and has established himself as a key figure in the team.

The England international is a regular for the Hammers, and given that he is only 21 years of age, he can only get better in the coming years.

According to WhoScored, Rice has played four times in the Premier League so far this season, while during the 2019-20 campaign, he scored one goal and provided three assists in 38 league games for the Hammers.
