Well, Sandro is definitely off Everton’s books.
The 25-year-old joined the Toffees in 2017 but endured a horrendous stint at Goodison Park.
Despite spending three years at Everton, the Spain Under-21 international managed only eight Premier League appearances.
He was so poor, in fact, that the Merseyside club agreed to terminate his contract on deadline day for him to secure a move to Huesca back in Spain.
And it seems like the former Barcelona attacker has been unveiled, with Sandro writing on Twitter: “Ready to face this new challenge with enthusiasm and confidence. You have to give everything without rebelling for this shirt.”
The good news for Everton is that despite Sandro flopping in a big way, he only cost £5.2 million [The Echo] when they signed him from Malaga.
He was one of many below-par signings by former Director of Football Steve Walsh, though he still managed to earn £86,000 per week.
The arrival of Carlo Ancelotti last year threw Sandro the slimmest of lifelines with regards to resurrecting his Everton career, because it was under Marco Silva that he left on loan last summer.
But given that the Italian has the Toffees top of the Premier League now, it’s clear that they’re operating at a level above what Sandro was and an exit is certainly the best for all parties.
