West Bromwich Albion ‘may struggle to stump up the cash required’ for Josh King after West Ham United opened talks to sign the Bournemouth striker, according to The Sun.
It is claimed that Bournemouth do not want a repeat of the Ryan Fraser situation with King and are ‘understood to be ready to do business for around £12 million’.
Like Fraser last season, the Norway international is in the final year of his Cherries contract and can therefore leave for free next summer.
Both West Brom and West Ham are said to have made contact with Bournemouth regarding a deal.
But West Ham, it seems, are frontunners.
With the window having closed for international and all-Premier League transfers on Monday, the pair can only recruit from EFL clubs until 16 October.

The Sun reported on Wednesday that West Brom were offering to pay a lump sum of around £5 million, plus the same amount in instalments, for King.
