According to the Daily Record, Qatari side Al-Duhail believe they can lure Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos away from Ibrox.
It’s claimed that Morelos rejected a move to Qatar over the summer, when he seemingly thought that a move to Lille was a possibility.
With the international transfer deadline now passed, Lille can’t sign Morelos, but the Qatari window is open until October 25th, meaning they have time to land the Colombian.
What’s interesting is that Al-Duhail think they can get Morelos because they can fast-track him on to Paris Saint-Germain due to a link between the two clubs.
That could be very appealing to Morelos, but he would still have to accept a move to Qatar, which he wasn’t keen on just months ago.
The 23-year-old was expected to leave over the summer, especially after Rangers signed not one but two strikers in Cedric Itten and Kemar Roofe.
However, the deadline passed without Morelos leaving Rangers, meaning that his options to leave the club are now limited to Portugal, Russia and the Middle East.
Al-Duhail have a few exciting attackers in Almoez Ali, Edmilson Junior and Youssef Msakni, so Morelos could join that attacking lineup, whilst also joining a side who won the league title earlier this year.
