What is the Trump Willy Wonka Meme?

A meme has been going viral on Twitter that sees Donald Trump’s face edited onto Willy Wonka from the original 1971 film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.

The meme is a scene from the start of the film where Willy Wonka goes to greet the children entering his chocolate factory. As he’s walking along the red carpet he falls, but then does a forward roll and lands on his feet again.

Twitter users react to the Trump Willy Wonka Meme

Social media users have been reacting to the hilariously accurate Trump Willy Wonka Meme on Twitter.

One Twitter user said: “There’s a vid going around in the Trump groups where it’s just that scene at the beginning of Willy Wonka where he falls over walking with a cane and then flips over and does a little jig but it’s Trump’s face photoshopped over Wonka’s face. within 3 days trump WILL tweet it.”

“Do you know how Willy Wonka walks to the gate in the beginning of Charlie and the chocolate factory that’s how Trump should’ve walked to the helicopter lol,” said another.

Another person said: “I swear, if Trump pulls a Willy Wonka and walks out like he is really ill, then does a somersault, I might wet myself.”

Donald Trump announces he has recovered from Covid-19

The President took to Twitter yesterday to announce that he was leaving the Walter Reed Medical Centre as he claimed that he felt completely better.

He said:

“I will be leaving the great Walter Reed Medical Center today at 6:30 P.M. Feeling really good! Don’t be afraid of Covid. Don’t let it dominate your life. We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge. I feel better than I did 20 years ago!”

Trump also posted video in which he addressed the nation, repeatedly telling the world not to let Covid-19 “dominate you”, essentially claiming that the coronavirus isn’t a big threat.

However, many social media users are wary of the 74-year-old’s speedy recovery, especially after a viral video supposedly shows him gasping for air after returning to the White House.
