Harry Redknapp has told Sky Sports that Tottenham Hotspur can win the Premier League title this season.

The former Tottenham manager believes that Spurs have a very strong squad, and that Jose Mourinho’s side could beat Liverpool and Manchester City to the title.

Redknapp told Sky Sports: “If you ask me, honestly, I think Spurs will make top four. I think they could even win the league this year. I know people are going to think I am crazy, but I look at that squad. It looks like it is going to be an open year. Look what happened at the weekend.

“I am telling you, that is some squad they have got. They have got cover in every position. It is a really powerful squad. If anyone is going to upset the big two. Go through that team. Have a look at that squad. Go through that forward line. Son. Harry Kane. Gareth Bale.

“Look at the strength in depth. They are full of midfield players. Defensively, they have two right-backs and two left-backs. They could be scary. I think Tottenham are a danger to anyone in that division this year. Lump on, whatever price they ask. If anyone else is going to do it, it could be Spurs.”

Big claim from Harry Redknapp

Tottenham were brilliant at the weekend, as they hammered Manchester United in the Premier League.

There was no Gareth Bale in the squad for the match, but the North London club still scored goals for fun.

When Bale is back to full match fitness, Mourinho’s side will become even more potent in attack.

However, Liverpool and City remain the two strongest teams in the Premier League.

True, the Reds were soundly beaten by Aston Villa at the weekend and Pep Guardiola’s side are conceding far too many goals than they should at the moment, but as the season progresses, their quality will shine true.

Tottenham’s realistic target this season should be to finish in the top four of the Premier League table and clinch a Champions League place.
