Arsenal fans will be growing increasingly excited today, as the club appear to be pushing for the signing of Thomas Partey.
The Gunners have been linked with Atletico Madrid star Partey throughout the summer transfer window, but it looked like a deal would escape them.
Atletico have been standing firm on Partey’s €50million (£45million) release clause, and Arsenal haven’t been able to come up with that cash.

The Daily Star claim that Arsenal are attempting to rush through a deal for Partey before the deadline, but are facing difficulties.
Cuatro in Spain report that Arsenal have made it clear to the La Liga offices that they are prepared to pay the €50million release clause, with The Sun (14:53) adding that a medical is imminent.
Guillem Balague has now offered an update on the situation, claiming that Atletico currently don’t know anything about Arsenal paying Partey’s release clause.
Arsenal technically don’t have to tell Atletico, because the deal goes through La Liga’s offices, but Atletico expected a courtesy call if Arsenal did make a move for Partey – and that hasn’t yet arrived.
