In a surprise announcement from Nintendo, Minecraft Steve DLC is coming to the popular fighting game Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Announced as the second new character in the Fighter’s Pass 2 wave of DLC, the Minecraft mascot will be joined by Alex, Zombie, Enderman, and a lot of other changes to the way Super Smash Bros plays.

One of the most widely beloved fighting games of all time, the Super Smash Bros series has gained a reputation for featuring unusual crossovers between the various biggest names in gaming.

The inclusion of Minecraft in Smash, while unexpected, is understandable. Minecraft is the best-selling game of all time, so its inclusion in Smash Bros DLC fits with the series’ remit to spotlight games with a large cultural impact.
