Arsenal are facing competition from Paris Saint-Germain for Houssem Aouar, according to L’Équipe.
It has been reported by the French publication – as translated by Get French Football News – that PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has spoken to Lyon chief Jean-Michel Aulas over the transfer of the midfielder.
PSG want to sign the 22-year-old midfielder in the summer of 2021, but last season’s Champions League finalists want to sort out a deal now and beat Arsenal and Juventus to the signature of the youngster, according to the report.
Arsenal need to act now
With just days left in the summer transfer window, Arsenal need to hurry if they want to sign Aouar from Lyon.
PSG are a massive and wealthy club, and if the midfielder stays at Lyon beyond Monday, then they will have a lot of time to work on a deal to sign the 22-year-old midfielder.
As reported by RMC Sport on September 29 and covered by HITC Sport here, Arsenal have had two bids for the youngster turned down already.
It will be interesting to see how much the Gunners are willing to pay for the Frenchman, who is “a fabulous player to watch” and “drives past people”, according to comments from Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand on BT Sport on August 19, 2020.
