According to Footmercato, one suitor has walked away from the chase to sign reported West Ham United and Everton target Mohamed Simakan due to his price-tag.
The Strasbourg defender has been heavily linked with a move ahead of the deadline.
A report back in May from RMC claimed both Everton and Tottenham Hotspur were heading Premier League interest with clubs from Spain and Italy also keen.

The latest from The Sun this past week claimed West Ham are also keen.
But Strasbourg are fighting hard to keep their prized asset, with the latest reports from France saying they are unwilling to negotiate on their £18 million asking price.
Footmercato say Rennes are pushing for his signature, but another suitor has walked away.
West Ham picked up their first three points of the season as they surprisingly crushed Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-0 at the London Stadium at the weekend.
The Hammers have talent going forward. However, question marks remain over their defence with manager David Moyes keen to add another centre-back.
Simakan is predominantly a central defender who can also play at right-back.
Standing at 6ft 2inch, the Frenchman possesses great strength and aerial ability, while being quick enough to cover the spaces and challenge balls over the top.
His price-tag is considerably cheaper than the likes of James Tarkowski and Wesley Fofana. However, at 20, he would be a gamble for Premier League clubs.

Everton, meanwhile, have started their season with an excellent 100% record. Carlo Ancelotti’s side look like they have an abundance of goals in them.
The Toffees, however, may still wish to strengthen their defensive options and they may see Simakan with big potential and an ideal option for the future.
