Championship duo Middlesbrough and Brentford are interested with Oskar Buur Rasmussen expected to leave Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan, according to the Birmingham Mail.

It seems that opportunities were fleeting for the 22-year-old Dane.

Buur made his Premier League debut during Wolves’ 2-0 opening day win at Sheffield United. But any hopes the youngster might have had of taking Matt Doherty’s place on the right side went up in smoke once a £30 million, two-time La Liga winner arrived at Molineux.

Nelson Semedo endured a debut to forget in Sunday’s 4-0 thumping away to West Ham United.

But the arrival of a big-money Portugal international means Buur will have to look elsewhere in search of regular first-team football; especially given that Wolves no longer need to balance domestic and European exploits this season.

The Birmingham Mail reports that Nuno will listen to offers for a man who moved to England in 2017.

Middlesbrough and Brentford are interested in a short-term loan deal, along with Dutch second tier side Volendam and Belgian outfit Royal Antwerp.

“The next step for me is to find a club where I can get some regular playing time and gain more experience to improve even more as a footballer,” says Buur, who has also fallen behind Ki-Jana Hoever in the pecking order and was left out of Nuno’s squad at West Ham.

“I’ve been in a Premier League first-team and improved, and learned a lot from the people here, now I want to go forward and get regular playing time and experience to improve, and help another team achieve their aims.”

A Brentford side who lost to Fulham in last season’s play-off final already have one Danish right-back at their disposal – the highly-rated Henrik Dalsgaard.
