Genshin Impact is proving to be incredibly popular, leading many potential players to wonder whether the game will come to the Nintendo Switch any time soon.

A free-to-play action RPG, Genshin Impact allows players to explore a large open world, controlling up to four characters at once. There are up to twenty four characters to unlock.

Given the game’s visual similarities to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Nintendo fans are eager to know whether Genshin Impact will be released on their system. Alas, according to developer miHoYo, this won’t happen any time soon.

Is Genshin Impact on Nintendo Switch?

At the time of its launch, Genshin Impact is not on Nintendo Switch.

The game is currently available on PS4, PC, and mobile platforms, and there has been talk of a Switch port in the near future. Fans who were hoping to see the game release on Switch were sadly disappointed.

Pokémon Legends Arceus: A familiar region. A new story.

That said, an update from miHoYo makes it clear that a Switch port is still very much on the cards. It’s just not ready quite yet.

When will Genshin Impact come to Switch?

According to developer Sam Lai, a Switch port for Genshin Impact is in development, but it won’t be ready for a while.

In a recent interview with RPG Site, Lai said:

“The Switch version of Genshin Impact is currently under development. More information regarding Switch beta testing and launch dates will be announced at a later time.”

The fact that even a Beta test does not have a set date suggests that, unfortunately, there may be some wait before the game is ready to launch on the Switch.

Genshin Impact might be winning players on a variety of platforms, but it seems like it won’t be coming to a Nintendo console any time in the near future.
