According to The Sun, David Moyes wants to bring Club Brugge midfielder Hans Vanaken to West Ham United.

It’s claimed that Moyes has been ‘checking out’ Vanaken ahead of a possible move, in a bid to bolster his Hammers squad.

Vanaken has allegedly missed out on a Premier League move in the past, and would now jump at the chance to make the move to England.

The 28-year-old has picked up five caps for Belgium, whilst his record of 74 goals and 56 assists in 239 games for Club Brugge is quite staggering.

He has hit double figures in goals in every season for Club Brugge, and has already notched four goals and two assists in seven games this term.

Vanaken isn’t one for the future having turned 28 last month, but he may leave fans feeling that he could be another Tomas Soucek.

The Belgian stands at 6ft 4in tall, just like Soucek, and possesses the ability to break late into the box and use his aerial prowess.

That’s how Soucek has become a favourite at West Ham, and having seen Marouane Fellaini thrive in that role under Moyes at Everton, the West Ham boss seemingly wants a couple of options in a similar mould.

Vanaken is a little more of a creative player than Soucek, but the parallels are there to be seen as West Ham plot a move for the Club Brugge star.
