It has been reported that Leeds are close to reaching an agreement with Utrecht over a £10 million transfer fee for the 24-year-old and hope to announce him as their new player this week.

The report has claimed that Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa himself watched the winger in action before the global health crisis struck.

Current Ajax coach Erik ten Hag worked with the winger at FC Utrecht, and he has raved about the reported Leeds target.

The Mirror (print edition, page 74, September 27, 2020) quotes Ten Hag as saying about Kerk: “Gyrano’s style suits English football. He has pace, is strong and is a dangerous player once he gets a bit of space in the counter attack.”

Stats

According to WhoScored, Kerk has scored one goal in two Eredivisie matches for FC Utrecht so far this season.

During the 2019-20 campaign, the attacker scored 10 goals and provided seven assists in 24 league games, according to WhoScored.

Good signing for Leeds United?

Kerk is a very versatile attacking player who can play more centrally or out wide, both on the left and on the right.

Leeds could do with another attacking player, especially one who has played and been a success in a competitive domestic league such as the Eredivisie.
