Tottenham Hotspur fans are excited over claims that they are now moving to sign Milan Skriniar from Inter Milan.

Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Tottenham want the central defender, as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his defensive options for the campaign.

Spurs supporters went into this summer with very little expectation, with Mourinho believed to have a limited budget.

However, Tottenham have already pulled off some impressive deals – with Gareth Bale, Sergio Reguilon, Pierre Emile Hojbjerg and Matt Doherty all joining.

And Spurs fans can’t believe that they are showing such ambition in the market all of a sudden, with Skriniar the latest player to be linked with joining.

Skriniar could actually be Tottenham’s most expensive recruit to date if he does join, as Inter Milan want a sizeable fee for the Slovakian.

He would add even more cover at centre-back for Spurs though, and that could be crucial as Mourinho is yet to settle upon a first-choice pairing at the back.

Eric Dier, Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez have all played at centre-back for Tottenham this term, but none of the trio have really nailed down their place.
