Celtic and Newcastle United reportedly look set to miss out on Jordon Ibe to Derby County in the summer transfer window.
According to The Mirror (print edition, page 67, August 29, 2020), Newcastle are interested in signing Ibe on a free transfer this summer (click here to read more).
The Sunday Mirror (print edition, page 74, June 28, 2020) claimed that Scottish Premiership giants Celtic are looking into securing the services of the former Liverpool and Bournemouth winger (click here to read more).
However, it seems that both the Hoops and the Magpies will miss out on the 24-year-old, who left Bournemouth earlier this summer.
The Telegraph has reported this morning (8:10am, September 21, 2020) that Ibe will undergo a medical at Championship club Derby today and will sign a two-year contract.
Newcastle have signed Ryan Fraser and they also have another quality winger in Allan Saint-Maximin, but the Magpies could do with another senior wide player, with Christian Atsu not having the best of times at the club in recent times.
Mohamed Elyounoussi returned to Celtic on another loan deal from Southampton, while Mikel Johnston is a very talented young winger, but manager Neil Lennon could do with another winger who would be able to come in and make an instant impact, as the Hoops chase their 10th successive Scottish Premiership title.
