Cesc Fabregas has raved about Liverpool star Sadio Mane on Twitter while watching him in action for the Reds against his former club Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this evening.
The former Arsenal and Chelsea star – now at AS Monaco – was impressed with Mane, and he has stated on Twitter that the Senegal international is the best player in the Premier League.
The 28-year-old – who cost Liverpool £34 million in transfer fees when they signed him from Premier League rivals Southampton in the summer of 2016, according to BBC Sport – scored twice for Jurgen Klopp’s side against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this evening.
World-class footballer
While many Premier League followers will argue against Fabregas’s claim about Mane, there is no doubt that the Liverpool forward is a world-class player.
The Senegalese was superb when he was at Southampton, and he has taken his game to another level since he moved to Liverpool.
According to WhoScored, Mane scored 18 goals and provided seven assists in the Premier League last season, while during the 2018-19 campaign, he scored 22 goals and provided one assist in the league.
