Well, the rumours look to be true as Ki-Jana Hoever confirms that he’s leaving Liverpool.

It has been widely reported over the past 24 hours that the Reds had struck a deal to sell the 18-year-old defender to Wolves.

According to The Echo, Hoever, who joined Liverpool in 2018 for only £90,000, will be sold for £9 million initially, with £4.5 million in add-ons potentially coming later.

The former Ajax starlet was one of the Anfield club’s most exciting young prospects.

Here’s what he wrote on Instagram today:

A number of Liverpool players – including Rhian Brewster, who is also linked away – responded to the kid on Instagram.

harveyelliott07: All the best brother
curtisjr: Good luck my boy
jhenderson: Good luck mate

One reason why Liverpool seem to be cashing in on Hoever is the emergence of Neco Williams.

The 19-year-old has arguably leapfrogged the Dutchman in Jurgen Klopp’s pecking order and with the money that Wolves were offering, selling up makes total sense for the Reds.

As for Brewster, he is heavily linked with a £20 million permanent move away from Anfield, after attracting confirmed interest from Sheffield United.

The 20-year-old scored 11 goals during a half-season loan at Swansea City last season and although some Liverpool fans are upset with Hoever’s exit, they’ll be far more upset if Brewster leaves.

That’s because the young English hitman is arguably a more exciting prospect, with a bit more potential than the teenage defender, and fans of the Merseyside outfit won’t be happy if he’s sold.
