According to Walfoot, Aston Villa want to sell Bjorn Engels rather than loaning him out after receiving a loan enquiry from Belgian side Anderlecht.
Engels started the 2019/20 campaign in decent fashion alongside Tyrone Mings.
But the £7.3 million signing from Reims later struggled to live up to expectations, making just a handful of appearances in the second half of the season.

With Mings, Ezri Konsa and Kortney Hause ahead of him in the pecking order, it seems Engels could find opportunities for game-time limited this year.
A report by Walfoot claim Anderlecht have asked about a potential loan. Villa, however, are instead looking to sell him which may be beyond the Belgian club’s means.
Dean Smith’s side have once again opened their chequebook this summer with the arrivals of Ollie Watkins, Matty Cash and Emiliano Martinez.
Villa have a big squad, and now they should focus on trimming the wage bill.

Engels, 26, was a risk coming to England with no Premier League experience. He isn’t a bad player, but Villa will feel they need better to push on this season.
The Belgian defender is under contract until 2024. Villa may have to accept taking a loss on him or work out some sort of loan deal with an obligatory buyout clause.
