Diego Carlos has responded to Sergio Reguilon’s post on Instagram after the left-back completed his move to Tottenham Hotspur from Real Madrid today.

Reguilon has joined Tottenham from Spanish and European giants Madrid on a five-year contract, as reported by BBC Sport.

The 23-year-old left-back has taken to Instagram to express his delight at making the move to Tottenham, and his former Sevilla teammate Carlos has responded to it.

The Spain international defender spent the 2019-20 season on loan at Sevilla, while Carlos joined the Andalucian club from Nantes in the summer of 2019.

Interestingly, Carlos himself has been linked with Tottenham, with The Telegraph reporting in June and July that the North London outfit have the 27-year-old central defender on their radar, as covered by HITC Sport here and here.

The Brazilian recently said that he is “very happy” at Sevilla, but added that “in football we do not know what can happen”, as quoted in The Manchester Evening News this week.

Tottenham could do with a new centre-back this summer following the departure of Jan Vertonghen.

Carlos responded: “Sorte meu irmão nesse novo desafio.”

When translated from Portuguese, it reads: “Good luck my brother in this new challenge.”
