The teenage West Ham United goalkeeper Joseph Anang has received the backing of a Tottenham Hotspur player.
Anang played in the West Ham Under-23s’ fixture at Tottenham on Friday afternoon.
Joe Hart, who spent a season on loan at the London Stadium when the 20-year-old was a scholar at the club, was also present at the Enfield Training Centre.
And Hart stopped for a catch up with his former Hammers teammate afterwards.
“Good to see my friend @joseph_77_,” he wrote on his Instagram story.
“Top keeper in the making …. time to push on my friend(.) You(‘re) ready.”
Anang could have a chance to tie down his position as West Ham U23s’ first-choice this season, with the Hammers said to be considering loan offers for his rival youngster, Nathan Trott (Daily Mail).
But the England U20 international was on the losing side against Tottenham, who won 3-0 courtesy of second half goals from George Marsh, Harvey White and Rodel Richards.
Hart, the former England number one, joined Tottenham on a two-year contract earlier this summer after his Burnley deal expired at the end of last season.
West Ham fans – do you agree with the Spurs man’s assessment?
