The former Liverpool striker believes that Thiago would be a good signing for the Premier League champions.
However, the former Republic of Ireland international has said that he would like the Reds to sign a new striker in the summer transfer window, but he believes that it is unlikely now.
According to The Mirror, Liverpool have agreed to pay Bayern £20 million to sign Thiago this summer, with the central midfielder to complete the transfer today.
Do Liverpool need a new striker?
Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are a formidable front-three, and it is hard to see Liverpool sign a forward who will be better than them.
However, the Reds could do with more competition in attack, but perhaps instead of signing a striker, they should look at someone within the club.
Rhian Brewster enjoyed a successful loan spell at Swansea City last season, and the striker would be a good option to have in the squad for manager Jurgen Klopp.
