Fans who wanted Alison Brie as She-Hulk have taken to Twitter in reaction to the latest casting news.
Screen entertainment over the last decade has been somewhat defined by the presence of superheroes.
While there have been notable DCEU efforts and so forth, Marvel has arguably dominated the 2010s over on the big screen.
As highlighted by Box Office Mojo, Avengers: Endgame is currently the highest-grossing movie of all time. However, perhaps that’s not surprising; it was more than just your average mega-budget, spectacle-driven blockbuster. It meant a great deal to people and still does.
The MCU has taken audiences on such a grand and unparalleled journey since it kickstarted with Jon Favreau’s Iron Man in 2008.
Since Endgame, some have argued that the MCU has hit its peak. Nevertheless, there is so much in store for fans to eagerly anticipate.
From Black Widow to Loki, an exciting slate of projects looms on the horizon.
However, it’s the promise of She-Hulk finally making her way to screens which has many curious at the moment. Yet, not everybody is happy…
Alison Brie fans react to She-Hulk news
For some time, it has been rumoured that Alsion Brie will star in the forthcoming She-Hulk series for Disney+.
The 37-year-old American actress is a favourite amongst many viewers for having starred in the likes of Community (Annie Edison), BoJack Horseman (voice of Diane Nguyen/various), Mad Men (Trudy Campbell) and GLOW (Ruth Wilder).
However, fan predictions have taken a hit since Variety reported that Canadian actress Tatiana Maslany is nearing a deal to tackle the role of She-Hulk/Jennifer Walters.
The 34-year-old is arguably best known for starring in the sci-fi series Orphan Black but has also been in such movies as Stronger (Erin Hurley), Destroyer (Petra) and The Other Half (Emily).
In wake of the reports, fans of Alison have taken to Twitter to voice their thoughts.

She has commented on the rumours before
The rumours of Alison’s casting in the She-Hulk role aren’t exactly anything new.
In fact, the actress herself has commented on it all.
While promoting the 2020 film The Rental in conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Alison addressed the rumours:
“You know, I’ve been trying to follow it online a little bit. It is always funny to me when something kind of takes off on the internet, and I’m getting my updates from fans tagging me in things on Instagram. I’m like, ‘Oh, interesting. Oh, people are still talking about it. That’s cool’.”
Digital Spy also highlights that Alison revealed that she had “made some phone calls” after the rumours began to circulate.
Is her casting out of the question?
Variety acknowledges that Tatiana is essentially all set to tackle the role.
Additionally, we’ve also seen MCU actor Mark Ruffalo (who plays Hulk) take to Twitter [see above tweet] to welcome her to the fold: “Welcome to the family, cuz!”
So, it looks like Alison Brie fans will simply have to enjoy her in other projects.
Additionally, Variety adds that Kat Coiro has boarded the project as both a director and executive producer, while Jessica Gao is writing the series and is credited as executive producer and showrunner.
Even without Alison, it’s shaping up to be something special.
