Tim Sherwood thinks Danny Rose will leave Tottenham this summer after being told by Gabby Agbonlahor that he’s ‘training with the kids’, as he told talkSPORT (16/09/20 at 9:15 am).
The former Spurs boss was initially talking about how Jose Mourinho can turn things around with the left-back and get him back into the set-up even though he hasn’t been allocated a squad number this season.
But when former Villa striker Agbonlahor, who is good friends with Rose, told Sherwood that Rose is ‘changing on his own’, he felt that the situation with the 30-year-old is now ‘unrepairable’.
“I think Danny Rose is still their best left-back,” Sherwood told talkSPORT. “He’s not got a shirt number. Something has got to give there and it doesn’t look like it’s going to be Jose and Daniel Levy giving anything away. So, Danny will probably leave the football club.
“Danny is different. He likes to be outspoken and I don’t think there is anything wrong with that. Personally, I just think you have to manage it. Just be honest with them – there is still time, I think they can still turn him around. Danny is that type.”
Agbonlahor then told Sherwood: “He’s actually getting changed by himself in his own changing room. Training with the kids. I feel like it’s not a nice way to treat someone who has been at the club for 10-11 years.”
Sherwood responded: “Well, that’s unrepairable if that’s happened. I think the bridges are probably burnt now. I don’t think Jose’s going anywhere anytime soon, so I think Danny’s going to have to seek pastures new.”

Whilst the All or Nothing Amazon documentary has added more fuel to the fire regarding Rose’s relationship with Tottenham and Mourinho, the problems were there before the Portuguese arrived.
In 2019, Rose told the Evening Standard that he will be running down his contract in North London, no matter what.
Whatever the issues, or whoever is at fault, Mourinho clearly never started anything other than adding more fuel to the fire because, just like Rose, he is pretty outspoken as well.
