Yesterday’s PS5 Showcase event was a fantastic showing that wowed with Hogwarts Legacy, Demon’s Souls, and new Spider-Man Miles Morales gameplay. However, since the gameplay demonstration, a lot of news has come to the surface. This has resulted in people asking what is the Spider-Man Miles Morales Ultimate Edition, and some people are confused about the standard version not being a PS5 exclusive.

Spider-Man Miles Morales will be a PS5 launch title, but its official release date is November 12th. This means it’ll come out before the PlayStation 5 in Europe, which will surely annoy some despite some understanding and leeway being given thanks to Covid.

However, what has caused confusion amongst gamers is the Ultimate Edition and the fact that the game is also coming to PS4.

Is Spider-Man Miles Morales coming to PS4?

Yes, Spider-Man Miles Morales is coming to PS4.

It was believed that Spider-Man Miles Morales would be a PS5 exclusive, but Sony has just confirmed that it is coming to PS4.

And the news of it coming to current-gen and next-gen has understandably irked some people. After all, Sony did suggest that they have no interest in making PS5 games backwards compatible with the current-gen.

This made it seem like Spider-Man Miles Morales and Horizon Forbidden West were both going to be limited to the PS5, but now the latter has been confirmed for PS4 also.

Some believe that Sony pulled a porky to make people believe the PS5 is more essential at launch than it actually is, meanwhile others are now worried that these games will be held back due to not being next-gen only.

What is the Spider-Man Miles Morales Ultimate Edition?

The Spider-Man Miles Morales Ultimate Edition is a version of the game for PS5.

Insomniac’s Spider-Man Miles Morales Ultimate Edition comes with a T.R.A.C.K suit, skill points, gravity well gadget, Second Spidey suit, and a voucher for Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered.

The Remastered version of Peter Parker’s adventure is a PS5 experience that is said to take full advantage of the PS5’s horsepower.

Better looking characters with improved skin, hair, and eyes will be included with a new, next-generation Peter Parker, and there’ll be ray-traced reflections, improved lighting, more pedestrians, and 60 FPS.

It’ll be available on the PS5’s launch day in both physical and digital format for $69.99. Meanwhile, the Standard version of Miles Morales on PS4 and PS5 will cost $49.99.

And, if you buy it on PS4, there will be a free upgrade to next-gen when you’re ready. But you need to buy it digitally rather than physical. Check out the PlayStation Blog for more information.
