The first trailer for season 2 of The Mandalorian has finally arrived but does the trailer tease an appearance from Star Wars Rebels character, Sabine Wren?

With the year we’ve been forced to endure so far, we’ve been in desperate need of some more time with a certain alien who stole all of our hearts when The Mandalorian arrived on Disney+.

And after waiting a long time for this moment, the return of our little green friend is closer than ever, especially now that the first trailer for season 2 of The Mandalorian has finally arrived.

The trailer features plenty of Mando and the Child (or Baby Yoda as he’s become affectionately known) as well as giving us glimpses at some new faces and locations that are due to appear.

One appearance caught the eye of fans more than most and it has sparked theories that Sabine Wren of Star Wars Rebels could well be appearing in The Mandalorian season 2.

The Mandalorian season 2 on Disney+

In September, after months of silence, the release date for season 2 of The Mandalorian was finally confirmed as October 30th.

And on September 15th, we finally got our first glimpse of the new season as the first trailer for The Mandalorian season 2 was released, teasing plenty more adventures for the titular Mandalorian and the Child.

Sasha Banks in The Mandalorian season 2 trailer

Ahead of the new season’s release, WWE’s Sasha Banks was confirmed as one of several new additions to the cast and fans were able to catch their first glimpse of her mysterious character in the newly released trailer.

We see Banks’ character, who is sporting a black hooded cloak, lurking in the shadows of a busy port before she disappears when a crowd of people walk past.

Is Sasha Banks playing Sabine Wren?

At the time of writing, Sasha Banks’ role in The Mandalorian is unconfirmed.

However, fan theories speculating that she could be Star Wars Rebels veteran, Sabine Wren, do not seem far off the mark.

In the animated series, Sabine was famed for her brightly coloured hair, something which WWE star, Sasha Banks, is also well known for.

Of course in the trailer, any identifying features beyond her face are covered by the black cloak.

But bearing in mind that Sabine is herself a Mandalorian and once had possession of the Dark Saber, which we saw Moff Gideon use in season 1, she would undoubtedly fit right in.

Especially given the fact that several Star Wars Rebels characters are rumoured to be appearing in season 2 already.

The Mandalorian season 2 will arrive on Disney+ on October 30th, 2020.
