Some Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to Chelsea manager Frank Lampard’s comments.

Chelsea boss Lampard has responded to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s recent comments about the Blues’ spending so far in the summer transfer window.

According to The Daily Mail, Chelsea have spent £230 million on new players so far this summer, including Kai Havertz and Timo Werner.

The Daily Mail has quoted Klopp as saying: “For some clubs it seems less important how uncertain the future is. Owned by countries, owned by oligarchs, that’s the truth. We are a different kind of club.

“We got to the Champions League final two years ago, we won it last year, and became Premier League champions last season by being the club we are, by being led the way we are led.

“We cannot just change it overnight and say, ‘So now we want to behave like Chelsea, now they’ve signed a lot of players’.”

Chelsea boss Lampard has responded to those comments, with BBC Sport quoting him as saying: “I was less annoyed with it, I found it slightly amusing. It’s a fantastic story of a club – over four and a half, five years that Jurgen Klopp’s been there – that have managed to get recruitment right to a really high level.

“You can go through the Liverpool players – Van Dijk, Alisson, Fabinho, Keita, Mane, Salah – incredible players that came at a very high price.

“The really smart thing they have done is believe in their coach and system for a number of years. It’s a great story, but it’s story that has seen money spent on players. What we’ve done is come off the back of a ban and tried to address the situation to improve.”

Some Liverpool fans have responded to Lampard’s aforementioned comments on Twitter, and below are some of the best comments:

Title race

Liverpool were head and shoulders above the rest of the teams in the Premier League last season.

The Reds will fancy their chances of winning the title again this season, but the Merseyside outfit will not find as easy as it was in 2019-20.

Chelsea have made some brilliant signings this summer and will be determined to win the title.

Manchester City will come back stronger this season, and Manchester United will also consider themselves among the title contenders.

It promises to be a hugely entertaining title race in the Premier League this season.
