Some Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Timo Werner for Chelsea on Monday evening.
Werner made his Premier League debut for Chelsea against Brighton and Hove Albion away from home at the American Express Community Stadium last night.
The Germany international striker started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, as Frank Lampard’s side won 3-1 to begin their league campaign on a positive note.
The 24-year-old was very good on his debut for the Blues, as he worked hard, was a consistent problem for the Brighton defenders, and showed a lot of pace.
According to WhoScored, the striker took five shots of which one was on target, had a pass accuracy of 76.5%, took 34 touches, attempted two dribbles, and made one interception.
Werner was strongly linked with a move to Liverpool before he joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig in the summer transfer window.
The striker himself told Via Sport in February 2020 that he was flattered to be linked with Liverpool, and he also told Sky Germany that he would fit in at the Reds and raved about Jurgen Klopp (click here and here to read more).
