The departure of a Tottenham Hotspur target with ties to Crystal Palace appears to have been accelerated.
Tottenham are one of the teams set for talks about signing Alexander Sorloth, who is on loan from Crystal Palace to Trabzonspor, according to the Turkish club’s president, Ahmet Agaoglu (Fanatik).
And Trabzonspor have now ‘taken action’, making an offer for the Stoke City striker Benik Afobe, according to 61saat.
The website claims that Afobe is the player the Super Lig side want to replace Sorloth, with whom they are ‘preparing to part ways’.
“Sorloth wants to go. But there is no way that we will agree immediately for every player who wants to leave,” said Agaoglu (Fanatik).
“We are meeting with Leipzig and Tottenham, ourselves and Crystal Palace. We are both entitled to this transfer, we will act in Trabzonspor’s best interests.”

Afobe started his career with Tottenham and Crystal Palace’s London rivals, Arsenal.
The 27-year-old later enjoyed successful stints at Wolverhampton Wanderers and AFC Bournemouth before joining Stoke, via Wolves, for £12 million in January 2019, following a loan spell.
Should he become a Trabzonspor player, Afobe would be managed by the former Chelsea winger-turned-assistant, Eddie Newton.
