The internet is full of weird and wonderful challenges which make their way through social media every couple of weeks.
The latest challenge to hit social media is the Period Challenge, which has predominantly found its popularity on Instagram.
This challenge is certainly unique, but it has already racked up a massive 3,000 posts on the photo sharing app, and has even made its way onto Twitter.
You can find out all about the challenge below.
What is the Period Challenge?
The period challenge involves (mostly) women using their bodies to spell the word “period,” with their bum and legs making the letter “p.”
People taking part in the challenge are taking a picture of their side profile, which forms the letter “p,” before editing in the rest of the word.
The more defined your legs and bum are, the more it looks like a better P, which is the aim of the challenge.
The Challenge uses the hashtag #periodchallenge, so if you want to take part, make sure to include the tag in your caption!
What does “Period” mean?
Period is a slang term which you may not have heard of if you are from the UK.
The word is used in real life and on TV shows, though it has gained even more popularity on the internet nowadays.
According to Dictionary.com, “period” means:
“A variant of period, periodt is an interjection used to signal the end of a discussion or to emphasize a point. It usually occurs at the end of a statement or in the phrase (and) that’s on periodt.”
