According to the Daily Mail, Aston Villa have now made a new £19million bid for Lyon winger Bertrand Traore.
It’s claimed that Villa had already failed with one bid of £15.7million for Traore, but have now returned with a new offer.
Villa have allegedly raised their bid to £19million, and Traore is thought to be keen on a move to Villa Park as he is excited by a possible return to English football.
The 25-year-old previously played for Chelsea, but failed to really make much of an impact at Stamford Bridge.
Crystal Palace, Fulham and Leicester City are keen on Traore too, but Villa look set to beat all three of them to his signature with Lyon ready to sell following that new bid.
Traore notched four goals and five assists in 35 games last season, and his total record for Lyon now stands at 33 goals and 17 assists in 126 appearances.
The Burkina Faso wide man is quick and skilful, and predominantly likes to cut in from the right flank onto his left foot, with Villa seeking more goals from wide men.
They are still discussing a move for Werder Bremen winger Milot Rashica, but it now looks like a deal for Traore is inching closer and closer.
