Newcastle kick off their 2020/21 Premier League campaign with a trip to face West Ham tomorrow.

Steve Bruce’s side clinched a 3-2 win in the corresponding fixture at the London Stadium and will be hoping for a repeat on opening weekend.

That victory was earned with a five-man backline, but Bruce’s new arrivals may lead to a change to a more adventurous formation tomorrow.

How many of Newcastle’s four new faces are clear to play tomorrow?

As per the Chronicle, Jamal Lewis and Callum Wilson are definitely in contention, and Newcastle are waiting on Ryan Fraser.

Given that Fraser didn’t play for Bournemouth post-lockdown, he’s likely to be badly lacking match sharpness.

That’s why we haven’t put him into our predicted side. Joelinton may be shunted out wide from the off here.

Newcastle United’s opening fixtures of 2020/21

  2. Brighton (H)

  3. Tottenham (A)

    September 26

  4. Burnley (H)

    October 3

  5. Manchester United (H)

  6. Wolves (A)

Martin Dubravka is out injured, so Karl Darlow will likely deputise.

Isaac Hayden just signed a new long-term contract, and we feel Bruce may have him anchoring midfield with Jonjo Shelvey alongside him tomorrow.

The best thing for Newcastle is they now have exciting options – and we haven’t even mentioned Allan Saint-Maximin yet.
