Polish legend Zbigniew Boniek is convinced that Kamil Jozwiak will be a Derby County player sooner rather than later, telling RMF that the Lech Poznan winger could soon be worth in the region of £25 million.
This is a transfer saga that just won’t go away.
And, with less than a month remaining until the summer window slams shut, the young winger poured plenty of fuel on the fire when he announced his plans to depart Lech Poznan before the October deadline.
“I openly say what my goal is and that I would like to leave,” Jozwiak told Polsat.
Southampton have been linked with a swoop for the Poland international of late but, eight months after his move to Pride Park collapsed (Wyborcza), Derby could finally be on the verge of signing their long-term target.
“The day after tomorrow, Jozwiak will probably go to Derby County,” says former Juventus and Roma star Boniek, who claims to have inside information on the deal, via Pilkarskich.
“I hear voices saying that everything is already prepared.”
Deich Stube claims that Lech Poznan are demanding around £4 million for their 22-year-old prized asset.
But Boniek believes that, in 12 months, Jozwiak’s price-tag could go through the roof if he shines for Poland at the delayed European Champions.
“I think that if this player played for Lech for another year and played at the Euros, he would go abroad for £25 million instead of £4-5 million.”
Interestingly, Jozwiak was asked about a move to Derby by Sportowe Fakty earlier this week – and his response was certainly an interesting one.
“There is a lot of English interest,” he says.
