The Arsenal right-back Héctor Bellerín is back on the radar of his former club, Barcelona, according to Sport.

Bellerin was lured to Arsenal from Barça’s academy ranks as a teenager, growing into an established first-team player since then.

And it is claimed the Catalan club want him to bring him back, with their technical secretary, Ramon Planes, said to have spoken to the Gunners’ technical director, Edu, to ‘probe his possible signing’.

Planes is reported to have extracted that it would take between €20-25 million (roughly £18.2-22.7m) to tempt Arsenal into a sale – a figure which is deemed ‘unaffordable’ at this time.

Barça, though, could raise the required funds through selling their own players and Bellerin’s return to Camp Nou will be determined by the future of one in particular, according to Sport.

The newspaper claims the club have agreed with the agent of Nelson Semedo, Jorge Mendes, to explore a Premier League move for his client, who plays in Bellerin’s position.

Barça are said to have planned to use Semedo as a makeweight in their bid to sign the Manchester City defender, Joao Cancelo and Eric Garcia.

But it is reported that a strained relationship with City, caused by the English side’s recent pursuit of Lionel Messi, has ended the possibility of any ‘bartering’ between the two clubs.

Bellerin, who has three years left on his Arsenal contract, is rumoured to have interest from a string of Europe’s elite outfits.
