Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning is an action RPG with levelling, and that means that, eventually, you might hit the game’s level cap. Grind up to a certain point and you’ll be nigh-unbeatable, but also unable to make yourself any stronger unless you respec.

Re-Reckoning’s levelling system is standard action RPG fare. You’re able to pick from a variety of classes (starting with the base Warrior, Rogue, and Mage archetypes and their various combinatiosn), and choose how you want to progress through various skill trees.

While the game shouldn’t be too challenging for a player who explores everywhere, it is worth bearing in mind that there’s only so far you can progress.

What is the level cap in Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning?

In Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning the maximum level cap is set at 40. You won’t be able to earn levels higher than this, although you will be able to respec if you want to change your character.

This means you’ll need to be careful in choosing the right skillset for the character you want to play. You’ll be able to try a dual-class, creating Spellcloak, Battlemage, Blademaster combinations, or specialise in all three base classes to create the Universalist if you so choose.

Alas, the more you spread your skills out, the harder you’ll find it to develop any one ability. As such, if you reach Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning’s level cap and want to try something else, you’ll need to respec.

How to respec in Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning

To respec your character in Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning, speak to a Fateweaver and select “Unbind Destiny”. Fatebinders can be found all across the map, and are indicated by an icon showing a pair of blank cards.

The first Fateweaver you meet in-game is at Allestar Tower. There you’ll have the opportunity to try changing your character’s skills in the early game.

If you’ve reached Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning’s level cap and want to try a different build, you’ll have a lot more Fateweaver options available to you all across the map.
