Reported Arsenal and Liverpool target Patson Daka has been labelled the “next Thierry Henry” by his former coach Dan Kabwe while speaking to News Diggers.

In the space of nine months, Red Bull Salzburg have lost Erling Haaland, Hwang Hee Chan and Takumi Minamino.

And, after a stunning breakthrough season at the eternal Austrian champions, the prolific Daka could be on his way to Anfield to reunite with Minamino and take a giant stride towards stardom under the enigmatic Jurgen Klopp.

The Zambia international scored 27 goals in all competitions in 2019/20, stepping up brilliantly after Haaland took his ruthless finishing skills to Dortmund in January.

And, according to Far Post, Arsenal have joined Premier League champions Liverpool in the race for his signature, while Manchester United are also interested in the £20 million-rated speedster (The Sun).

Daka is hardly the first “new Henry” to emerge on the scene but, with a goalscoring record like his, Arsenal fans should be confident he can thrive where David Bellion, Emmanuel Riviere and Henri Saivet failed.

“When I saw Patson Daka, what came into my mind is this guy is the next Thierry Henry – and in no time he has proved it,” says Kabwe, who worked with the 21-year-old at Zambian outfit Power Dynamos.

“Where he is at Salzburg, it is a stepping stone. He has the potential to go further and meet other challenges. He is capable of making it (at the top level).

“He is an intelligent boy and full of talent. If the boy is already swimming in the deep end, why limit him?”

It remains to be seen whether Daka can emulate his former strike partner Haaland and take to life in a new and better league like the proverbial duck to water.
