Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has made waves in the UK after launching his campaign to tackle child hunger.

The 22-year-old has found support from various celebs such as Gary Lineker, Keir Starmer and Ed Davey.

However, some people have been vocal on social media in opposing Marcus and his charity work, including Katie Hopkins, and most recently, right-wing blogger David Vance.

What did David Vance say on Twitter?

It all began when Marcus replied to a tweet from Kevin Hollinrake, a Conservative MP for Thirsk and Malton who said: “Where they can, it’s a parents job to feed their children.”

Marcus responded: “I would urge you to talk to families before tweeting. To this day I haven’t met one parent who hasn’t wanted or felt the responsibility to feed their children…”

This was where David Vance decided to comment, and he replied to Marcus’ tweet with a statement which many Twitter users deemed “disgusting” and “vomit inducing.” He wrote:

“Hello @marcusrashford, unfortunately there is a disproportionate problem in the (UK) Afro- Caribbean community of black men abandoning their pregnant girlfriends, never to be seen again. In order to understand your comment below, can you confirm whether you have ever met your father?”

The tweet is no longer available on David Vance’s timeline.

Who is David Vance?

David Vance is a right wing blogger, located in the UK. He has amassed over 170 thousand followers on Twitter, where he mostly discusses politics.

His Twitter header is a quote which reads: “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.”

David also uses his Twitter to promote another page, called AltNewsMedia, which states in its bio: “Global News, Politics. Free Speech. FIGHT the Fake News Media.”
