Blazing Sails Pirate Battle Royale appeared at Gamescom 2020 where it was given an Early Access release date. You can already tell what type of game it is from its title alone, but its appearance has resulted in people massively comparing it to Sea Of Thieves. The visual similarities have offended some, meanwhile others simply want to know whether Blazing Sails will be on PS4 and Xbox One. This is because it looks fun and frantic.

For those who missed Gamescom 2020 or simply stopped paying attention after the Opening Night, Blazing Sails Pirate Battle Royale comes out tomorrow in Early Access format. Even in Early Access format it promises boatloads of content and pirate shenanigans to be had, so – if you play on PC – it may be worth a gander.

But, for console gamers, here you’ll discover whether the Sea Of Thieves alterative will be on PS4 and Xbox One.

Blazing Sails and Sea Of Thieves

As previously mentioned, Blazing Sails has been massively compared to Sea Of Thieves.

Blazing Sails has been compared to Sea Of Thieves on Reddit because of its visual similarities as well as because it’s simply a pirate game.

Although the games are both stylised and focused on scurvy scoundrels and ships, there is a difference in that the upcoming experience is strictly battle royale.

It’s not an adventure game where you can free roam and explore the sea to your heart’s content, it’s instead a battle royale experience like Fortnite but with ship combat.

You and your crew will battle others in fierce PvP action until there’s only one ship left standing, but you can also get off your boat to explore some of the nearby land.

But, just like Hunger Games and Fortnite, you will always need to be wary of the map becoming smaller and more compact as matches reach the latter stages.

Is Blazing Sails coming to PS4 and Xbox One

Blazing Sails is not coming to PS4 and Xbox One.

The Pirate Battle Royale game, Blazing Sails, is not coming to PS4 and Xbox One as it will only be on Steam in Early Access and at launch.

However, while there’s currently no shared plans to bring the game to console, the game’s FAQ page does suggest that it could possibly become available on platforms other than Steam at a later date.

This is because the FAQ says the game will only release on PC “for the initial launch” because the developers want to focus all of their attention on Steam first
