NBA 2K21 has only just launched on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and there’s two fan-favourite legendary teams included. While this is good news for basketball enthusiasts, the game’s launch hasn’t been entirely smooth with gamers complaining about having no VC when opening the title for the first time. And this is because the Mamba Forever pre-order bonus is not working.
If you purchased the Mamba Forever Edition, then you will be rewarded with a free cross-gen upgrade to the PS5 and Xbox Series X. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for those who have instead bought the Standard Edition of the game.
In addition to a PS5 and Xbox Series X upgrade, another pre-order bonus of the Mamba Forever version is in-game currency. However, NBA 2K21 players are reporting that the pre-order bonus is not working as they have no VC.
Why do I have no VC in NBA 2K21?
NBA 2K21 players are reporting that they have no VC despite pre-ordering the Mamba Forever Edition.
Those who pre-ordered the aforementioned Edition should’ve received 100,000 VC, but NBA 2K21 players are complaining that they have no virtual currency.
The pre-order bonus is only for those who prematurely purchased the more expensive option, so you shouldn’t be expecting any freely given in-game currency if you just bought the Standard copy.
But, for those who did spend an extreme amount on the Kobe Bryant edition, 2K Support has – at the very least – acknowledged the problem.
NBA 2K21 pre-order bonus not working fix
2K are working on a fix for the NBA 2K21 pre-order bonus not working dilemma.
The 2K Support Twitter account has acknowledged that the NBA 2K21 VC Mamba Forever pre-order bonus is not working, and they have said that a fix is on the way.
100,000 VC should be given to the players who are eligible, but – as of writing – people are still complaining on Twitter about their virtual currency not existing.
