According to Globo Esporte, Crystal Palace are interested in signing Fluminense’s Evanilson.

The 20-year-old Brazilian has caught the eye of a number of clubs after some fine performances since the turn of the year. Evanilson has scored six goals in 12 starts for Fluminense so far this season.

The report claims that he has an offer from the City Group – who own Manchester City, New York City FC and other clubs across the world, but Crystal Palace seem to have leapfrogged them.

The Eagles’ offer is reportedly the most pleasing to Fluminense. Palace have agreed to loan him back for the remainder of this season if they sign him, something that the Brazilians are very keen on.

Evanilson isn’t the sort of Brazilian strikers that are usually linked to Premier League clubs. He was never a wonder-kid, he never broke onto the scene and brought the fans to their feet and he hasn’t been tipped to become the next Ronaldo or Kaka or Ronaldinho.

However, the 20-year-old is still a brilliant prospect to keep an eye on. Evanilson was the top scorer in the Brasileiro Under-20s with 15 goals to his name. He is hugely versatile and can play in a number of positions.

The Brazilian started off as a winger but he has been integrated into a more central role over the past three years. He can play as a false nine or as a number 10 which opens up a ton of options for any manager who decides to take a punt on him.

His work rate is exceptional and his understanding of the space around him makes him a really exciting prospect. His dribbling skills are brilliant as well and he has shown incredible composure in front of goal in one-on-one situations.

Evanilson is by no means a signing that will bring the world’s attention on Crystal Palace. However, he could be a very smart addition who could become a huge player for the Eagles in the very near future if they decide to sign him this summer.
