She’s been outspoken about being a vegan since 2014 but now Miley Cyrus has revealed that she’s changed her diet.

The singer explained how she’s started eating fish again and discussed how it’s changed her daily life in a recent podcast interview.

Chatting with Joe Rogan, Miley got very candid about her health and life choices. Here’s what was said…

Is Miley Cyrus not a vegan anymore?

  • No, Miley is not a vegan anymore and is now following a pescatarian diet meaning she eats fish.

Speaking on the Joe Rogan Experience, she explained the reasons behind her change.

Miley said: “I was vegan for a very long time and I’ve had to introduce fish and omegas into my life because my brain wasn’t functioning properly.”

After the revelation Joe joked “not to tell that to the vegans”, with Miley responding that she’s “used to people coming for me”.

During their conversation Miley also revealed she feels “so much sharper” now than when she was vegan.

She also said that at one point she was “pretty malnutritioned” (sic) and that although some people can function on a strict vegan diet, she could not.

What has she previously said about her diet?

Miley has previously been outspoken about her diet and being vegan – even choosing fashion designers based on the lifestyle choice.

She went vegan in 2014 and had a vegan wedding when she married Liam Hemsworth in 2018, reports Harper’s Bazaar.

Talking about making different choices, Miley told Vanity Fair: “Choosing to live as a sustainable vegan activist means … making custom vegan pieces with some of my favourite designers”

What else did Miley discuss with Joe Rogan on his podcast?

Speaking during the podcast recording Miley spoke very candidly about her life and health.

She revealed that when she was 17 she felt very anxious at an airport and ended up buying a book called Change Your Brain Change Your Life.

Miley then explained that the author, Dr Daniel Amon, is now her therapist and has been for the past 10 years.

The singer also revealed that when she was two she suffered a brain injury when she was on a dirt bike with her dad Billy Ray.

Miley said: “I was in a baby bag..and when he ducked to avoid a tree, I didn’t and I hit my head…

“Maybe I’m thankful for it. Maybe it knocked me into this identity or something.”
