Arsenal look set to keep hold of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang by handing him a new deal, but a striker may still be on Mikel Arteta’s radar.

Alexandre Lacazette’s future remains unclear, Eddie Nketiah has yet to really show that he is ready for the Premier League, Gabriel Martinelli is injured and Folarin Balogun is out of contract in 2021.

The Gunners may not add a striker this summer, but having targets in mind for the long term could be ideal – and one name has emerged this week.

Far Post in Zambia report that Arsenal are interested in signing Red Bull Salzburg striker Patson Daka, though they face competition from Liverpool and Manchester United.

This isn’t a top source, but given that Daka is from Zambia, these reports back in his homeland have attracted some interest.

Daka, 21, smashed 27 goals and 12 assists for Red Bull Salzburg last season, and really thrived once Erling Haaland left for Borussia Dortmund.

The youngster has blistering pace and looks set for a bright future, with Arsenal potentially viewing him as a signing in the future.

Arsenal fans have been taking to Twitter to react to these rumours, with some believing that he would be a great replacement for Alexandre Lacazette.

Others claim they have wanted Arsenal to sign Daka for some time now, branding him ‘exciting’ and ‘real quality’ whilst urging the club to get a deal done.
