Season 1 of Was It Love has just concluded on JTBC and Netflix, but fans are already desperate to know if and when season 2 will premiere.
From Itaewon Class and Kingdom to Extracurricular and The King, there is no shortage of fantastic K-dramas available to binge-watch on Netflix.
The latest addition to that genre if the romantic comedy series, ‘Was It Love?’ but what is it a success?
Season 1 of the K-drama has just concluded on both Netflix and JTBC, but what are the chances that the series will return for a second season.
Was It Love season 2: Renewal status…
- At the time of writing, Was It Love has not been renewed for a second season, nor has it been officially cancelled by either JTBC or Netflix.
Whilst there is an obvious silence around the future of the series, we think that it’s 50/50 whether Was It Love will return to our screens. On one hand, the show remains popular with fans around the world, with Netflix always looking to push original K-dramas like this one.
However, the decision on renewal will likely rest on the performance within Korea, which have been steadily dropping since the premiere back in July.
We also have the issue of the story itself, which was wrapped up quite nicely in the finale – none of us would want the story and characters to be drawn out just for the sake of it.
From everything that we can gather online, there has been very little talk about a second season. Whilst this is usually a sign that the show was intended to only run for one instalment, there is always a chance of a surprise renewal in the weeks following the finale.
We will keep you updated with the latest information if any new information on Was It Love season 2 is revealed.
Was It Love season 2: Release date…
- If Was It Love is renewed for a second season, a realistic expectation would be that it would release in spring-2021.
Based on the production cycle of season 1, we could see a second season as soon February 2021. However, as the series has yet to be officially confirmed to be returning for a second season, this would likely be pushed back a few months.
Then we also have to consider the global coronavirus pandemic, which continues to affect the filming and post-production of countless dramas both in Korea and on Netflix.
Overall, an optimistic prediction for a season 2 premiere would be early-2021, but a more realistic expectation would be spring or even summer-2021.
