Pokémon Go has added powerful Mega Evolution forms through Niantic’s newest update. These were added a few days ago with a limited line-up of transformations available, and – to celebrate the addition – Niantic are hosting a Mega September. This Mega September event includes three weeks of unique activities and rewards, and here you’ll discover how to get shiny Doduo and shiny Ledyba.

In addition to announcing the Mega September event, Niantic have also announced that they are dropping Pokémon Go support for certain iOS and Android devices. The devices listed by Niantic are as follows: Android 5, iOS 10 and 11, as well as iPhone 5 and 6.

While you will need to be wary of support dropping for the aforementioned devices in October, below you’ll discover how to get shiny Doduo and shiny Ledyba.

How to get shiny Ledyba in Pokémon Go

You will be able to get shiny Ledyba in Pokémon Go from September 11th until the 17th.

  • Weedle
  • Paras
  • Venonat
  • Scyther
  • Pinsir
  • Ledyba
  • Spinarak
  • Wurmple
  • Kricketot
  • Burmy

You will be able to battle Team Go Rocket during this open window, and they will have different Shadow Pokémon.

It’s recommended that you Mega Evolve Beedrill before taking on Team Go Rocket.

How to get shiny Doduo in Pokémon Go

You will be able to get shiny Doduo in Pokémon Go by participating in the Mega Buddy event.

This Mega Buddy event for Pokémon Go runs from September 22nd until the 28th, and it will provide you with the opportunity to encounter and get shiny Doduo.

During the Mega Buddy event, the following large creatures will be appearing more frequently in the Wild:

  • Alolan
  • Doduo
  • Exeggutor
  • Pinsir
  • Lapras
  • Snorlax
  • Furret
  • Wobbuffet
  • Mantine
  • Skarmory

In addition to the above appearing more frequently in the Wild, the event will also provide more Mega Beedrill Energy.

You will also be able to get Mega Energy for Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise by completing exclusive Field Research tasks.
