Timothy Castagne could now join Leicester City, after being strongly linked with Tottenham Hotspur earlier this summer.
Le 10 Sport said last month that Castagne wanted to hold talks with Jose Mourinho over moving to Tottenham.
The Mail now even add that Spurs were keen on him, but Leicester appear to be winning the race to sign him.
The Foxes want Castagne, who is valued at £20 million (Leicester Mercury), to join as a replacement for Ben Chilwell.
Tottenham’s need for Castagne is not quite as great as Leicester’s now, so Jose Mourinho’s side’s decision not to advance talks with the Atalanta man is, perhaps, not too much of a surprise.
Tottenham have just signed Matt Doherty, who will start at right-back, and Mourinho has shown great faith in Ben Davies ever since he arrived.

Castagne could still have proven a useful option for Spurs if he had joined, as he has the ability to cover in both full-back positions and has impressed in Serie A this term.
But Mourinho seems to have targeted Premier League experience this summer, which has given Leicester a free run to land the 24-year-old.
